On the planet Aqua lies the watery city of Neo Venezia, a tourist hub in which people travel around in gondolas. Professional gondoliers known as Undines are well-revered as they act as tour guides for the people. Akari Mizunashi is a gondolier in training and also an employee of Aria Company. She gets to meet all sorts of people as she takes them on the gondola rides, from friendly mentors to special individuals, all this admidst the beautiful scenic backdrop of the entire city.

Takumi is now a member of the "Project D" racing team, a group that is intent on setting speed records for all of the mountain roads in the area. The team is headed the elder Takahshi brother, with Takumi and his supercharged(actually it is N/A racing engine with an 11K redline)86 being the downhill driving specialist, while the younger Takashi brother and his FD turbo car being the uphill specialist.

One sunny afternoon day, as the spacey Nao is doing what she enjoys doing most, taking photographs of clouds on the roof of their middle school, she encounters a cat, a FLYING CAT! In chasing after the cat, she manages to fall of the roof and is saved by a strange gust of strong wind, which slowed her fall and saved her from injury. She comes to learn that one of her teachers is a ‘ wind handler’, and it was he who taught the cat to control the winds so as to be able to fly through the air. During the summer break, Nao, her best friend Miki and a cute fellow student, Jun, all head out to their teachers little village in countryside to learn more about the secrets of controlling the wind. They arrive at a time when the mysterious Wind Festival is about to begin.
