Action Comedy: Much like ACTION (Lots of shooting, explosions, and the like) except it has comedy thrown in as well.
Self-explanatory. High school (grades 10-12) should play a major role in the title. Azumanga Daioh is an excellent example of this category. A typical High school series will include a Sports Festival, a Cultural Festival, and a school Trip.

Full Metal Panic ~Fumoffu~ |
Buy | This is the sequel/sideseries to Full Metal Panic and follows the manga. Now that the events in FMP are over, Sosuke and Chidori are once again classmates in high school. However, Sosuke hasn't lost any of his military training and starts things off by blowing up his shoe locker after discovering someone had been in it and may have booby trapped it (a girl had left him a love letter in the locker). From there, it just gets better as the series parodies various elements of Japanese life or just has the two in wacky school-related adventures. Will Chidori and her trusty harisen be able to whack Sosuke into a normal man she can have a relationship with? Or will Chidori become more like Sosuke and become a military babe he would really love? |

Honoo no Tenkousei |
One bright fall day, young Takisawa Noboru transfered over to Honjakuniku High, arriving an hour after the start of classes as the principal had instructed him. Everything seemed to be going fine, until the mildly overzealous hall monitor Jonichi Koichi decides to charge him with tardiness, and administer punishment...you see, in this high school, any argument can be won through sports or combat, leaving Takisawa in a bit of a pinch until the lovely Yukari steps in and saves him from making himself even later than he is. But that's just the start of Takisawa's troubles...the school tough, Ibuki Saburo, has set his sights on both mashing the new meat to a pulp, and winning the hand of Yukari away from any potential suitors...in the boxing ring! Will Takisawa be able to defeat Ibuki, win the love of Yukari, and still make it to Calculus on time? Of course, it's all in a day's work for a Blazing Transfer Student! |

Fujiyama "Fu-min" Okometsubu is an exchange student who comes to Wakame High school in his Junior year. He's a typical, shy nervous boy but he is determined to make new friends and start a new life. He starts a plan to make 100 new friends. Things don't go quite according to plan though, as his first day at school also happens to be the first day that Masaru Hananakajima comes back to school. Rumor has it that he left school for the past 3 months to live in the woods and practice some sort of secret martial art. He also happens to be one of the nicest people you'll ever meet...and a complete weirdo who lives in this constant black hole of strangeness. Through a twist of fate, the two become "friends" (the twist of fate being Fu-min getting dragged around by Masaru constantly). Masaru starts a new club at school to demonstrate his secret new martial art--"Sexy Commando", and recruits kids from around the school. |
