Rent | Twin brother and sister Aki and Aya Mikage are about to celebrate their 16th birthdays. Earlier on, Aya had visited a psychic and was told the fated day when the moon and stars of 16 would meet is coming, and that all hell and doom would break loose. Mysteriously their grandfather invites them over for a "birthday party" and gives them a gift which brings out new powers. Now suddenly the entire Mikage family wants Aya killed since "she will bring them nothing but harm." Aki is no longer allowed to see Aya. Along with that, an ancient legend of a Tennyo (girl from the heavens) is said to have come down to Earth and bathed in a river. A nearby fisherman spotted her and stole her hagoromo (feathered robe) that was hanging on a tree nearby. Without it she could not return to her home in the heavens, and was forced to marry the man and have his children. |

To his surprise he meets a strange girl with blue hair and blue eyes up there... but then time stops for a moment - and shortly after this, he and the girl are attacked by huge mechas. Moments later he finds himself in a place he's never seen before, and his nightmare begins in a fortress named Hellywood where all values of humanity appear to be lost. In the distant future, humankind has left earth and spread over vast areas of the galactic universe, with hundreds of planets and many different empires and alliances. One of the most powerful factions is the "Humankind Abh Empire", an alliance between the normal humans and the genetically modified 'Abh', who have adapted to a continuous life in space. The sudden surprise attack of the interstellar forces of the "United Mankind", who resent the success of the Abh, has thrown two friends: Abriel, an Abh princess of the royal family and Jinto, a human noble (Earl) of an isolated world, together on a patrol ship destined to be sent in to combat.
