This is a term coined to identify things like jiggling breasts, cleavage shots, panty shots, bra shots, closeup shots of women's breast, legs, butt, etc., and mild nudity all for the purposes of "servicing" the audience and having no relevance to the plot or characters of a series. The term has a second meaning covering things like massive action sequences, explosions, fights, etc., but it mostly refers to the first meaning.
This is a sub-genre of the romantic-comedy genre. To qualify, you have to have a single, dateless, nice guy who suddenly finds himself surrounded by a bunch of hot girls/women who are interested or attracted to him to varying degrees. The male lead may also live with many of these girls.

Continuing the story some two years after the incident with Nemu, Asakura Junnichi is living alone in the old house and is still very troubled by the past. But he is well looked after by all of the girls at school. The cute Shirakawa Kotori been very supportive during this time and the two have a close warm friendship, so much so that the others tease him by calling Kotori his ‘wife’.
