This is a sub-genre of the romantic-comedy genre. To qualify, you have to have a single, dateless, nice guy who suddenly finds himself surrounded by a bunch of hot girls/women who are interested or attracted to him to varying degrees. The male lead may also live with many of these girls.

In a near future time when alien attacks have become a common event, a secret (Japanese) organization called the GRA (GRAND RIFUREKUTO AMUDO, Grand Reflect Armor) has developed a very effective defense. Using a technology developed by Dr Sanada Mio, which she calls the 'G-On', certain young students wearing glasses (hence the "G" in the title) are able to harness their strong feelings and manifest those abilities and weapons that prove effective against the alien attacking units. The GRA has sponsored an elite high school to help identify and develop the students who have this ability in the hopes that they can defend not only Japan, but also the earth from the alien invaders. |

The second season of Mahoromatic begins as Mahoro's life finally begins to get back to normal. Seina Yamada is an unlucky teen boy. In fact his luck is so bad that he can't score a break if he tried. While on his way to his friend's house (taking a shortcut which takes him past his senpai Tenchi Masaki's home), his bad luck causes his bike to break. As he comes to rest at the Masaki lake, something crashes into the lake and knocks him out. When he comes to, a beautiful blonde lady is over him, relieved he hasn't been harmed. Assuming Seina has been training with Tenchi, she gives him a pamphlet to join Galaxy Police and tells him her name is Amane Kaunaq. Seina's family thinks the pamplet is some sort of prize entry and force Seina to put his thumb print on it. |
