Yuri/High School Titles

Yuri can be used to describe any anime or manga series (or other thing, i.e., fan fiction, film, etc.) that shows intense emotional connection, romantic love or physical desire between women. Yuri is not a genre confined by the gender or age of the audience, but by the perception of the audience. In short, yuri is any story with women (or girls) in love (or lust) with other women (or girls). (This definition is an edited version of the one that Yuricon provides.)

Self-explanatory. High school (grades 10-12) should play a major role in the title. Azumanga Daioh is an excellent example of this category. A typical High school series will include a Sports Festival, a Cultural Festival, and a school Trip.

Candy Boy		Candy Boy began as an eight minute ONA produced by Anime International Company, and directed by Takafumi Hoshikawa. Advertised as a school love comedy, the story focuses on the relationship between Kanade and Yukino Sakurai, twin sisters in their second year in a Tokyo high school, and the conflict provided by freshman Sakuya Kamiyama's feelings towards Kanade. Seven more 15 minute ONAs are to be "streamed" as well, continuing the story.

Kashimashi ~Girl Meets Girl~		Hazumu Osaragi is a boy with problems. First he confesses his love to Yasuna Kamilzumi. She turns him down. He slips on a path and falls down a mountain. Climbing back up the mountain almost gives him a heart attack. At the top he sees a falling star and makes a wish. The falling star turns out to be an out of control spaceship and hits him right in the mouth (like a kiss). He's dead. The alien on board is so horrified that he clones Hazumu and brings him back to life. Except the Alien forgot something. Umm...lets just say Hazumu now has breasts and is missing her manhood.

Maria Holic		The story centers on a sophomore named Kanako who enrolls in all-girls school because she has a phobia of men and wants find her destined yuri partner.
