I keep wanting to call this show "Galaxy Angels" (plural), because these five girls deliver such a reliable dose of fun that that's what they seem like to me. In ten or twelve minutes they provide a greater dose of humor than many half-hour comedies. Sometimes silly-funny is just what I need. Seeing as each episode tends to build up to one major gag, I wondered if they would be particularly rewatchable once I knew the punch-line to the central joke. Though definitely most fun the first time around, I find that they are indeed worth rewatching--it helps if you have a crappy memory for all the little jokes. The fact that I cannot think of a whole lot to say about this show is indicative of it's wacky, simple yet funny style. My favorite line: "I think Forte is evil!" --Normad Last updated Thursday, February 14 2008. | ||||||||

Drama : None This is pretty funny. Each girl has a special 'power': Ranpha's is Strength, Forte's is Markmanship, Mint's is Money, Vanilla's is healing, and Milfeulle's is Luck. It's very episodic and there is hardly any plot to speak of. It's good to chow down a couple of episodes when you just finished watching a downer drama and need a little lift. It's definitely something you watch in 2s. Do not try to watch this straight or the sugar rush will defeat you. The special on Disk 3 of Z is a very big change from the GA plot. It's all about Forte and her life before becoming an Angel. She lets her hair down and actually looks more like a Nyuu from Elfen Lied than a Dominatrix from Sorcerer Hunters. It's good but Miami Guns was better. Hence the rent raiting.

I initially bought this anime after reading the manga follow-up and was intrigued by the storyline, namely 5 beautiful girls charged with saving the universe, and was somewhat surprised to see the anime actually was more comedy than sci-fi. And downright ridiculous comedy at that-there's more slapstick humor than any other anime I have ever seen here. What makes it more fun is each girl has her own unique personality and way of doing things, although they all share two traits: cute and clumsy. One girl even looks like she's Rei Ayanami's (Evangelion) little sister! Plus there's plenty of variety in each short story, something different every episode.
If you really want something lighthearted or just like to laugh once in a while, then definitely get this series. It's not only the funniest one out there, but it shows you don't need big boobs & short skirts to keep people watching throughout the series.
