Bored by both his fellow students and the lack of challenges at school, the middle-schooler Kiyomaro Takamine has become very sullen and withdrawn, not that his frequently cutting class is really affecting his grades. Takamine appears destined for a dark and troubling future, at least until his father sends a strange young boy his way. The sudden arrival of Gash’s throws Takamine’s life into chaos! He surprised to learn that by holding Gash's magical red book, he can prompt Gash to spout bolts of lighting - which destroy anything in their path (including bedroom walls!) But Gash is just one of a hundred contenders who have quietly sent from a Demon-world to Takamine’s world to seek out a partnership with a human book-keeper - in a battle of elimination against the other deamons to determine who the next ruler of the Demon-world will be!

(Five episodes watched):

Episode one was a riot, what with this naive demon-boy who drops unexpected into Kiyomaro's life. I was tempted to violate my sacred rule of not watching more than one episode of a show per day. I'm sure watching the unadulterated fansub version was a big plus. Afterwards, my interest has fallen off as predictable fight scenes take up more and more of the airtime--I greatly prefer the comedy, and regard the action as little more than a nuisance. I'm surprised to be only the second contributor to a page about a show that has been so hyped lately.

I chanced to see a few episodes of this series on Toonami and became interested. There is a noticeable difference between the fansub release and the English-dub (R1) release (but not as bad as in the One-Piece series).

I have seen up to episode 50+ or so ... it is fun and cute.. and probably worth a strong-rent+ rating... but let's hear from some other anime fans and reviewers....
