Appleseed (1998) I disliked the art in Appleseed. Despite a decent story, the art detracted from my enjoyment, and the subtitles were very hard to read. Masamune Shirow's mech designs actually translated quite well to animation, but the happy, bright, pastel coloring of the anime didn't fit the dark, serious story, and that really bugged me. It looked like Pokemon, so it was hard to take the characters seriously. This added shock value to the violent scenes. Still, it's definately worth a watch, and most people probably won't really care about the colors. So go watch it and enjoy the compelling ideas presented. Last updated Friday, January 19 2001.

Appleseed (1998) I actually liked the art and animation in this if anything I thought that you didn't get to know enough about the charaters and the story The colors were supposed to be bright to show that this fake world they had created had no problems. The violence only shows how much a farce there facade really was I agree though that this is one to watch I have the dubbed version and you probably don't want kids around unless you don't mind them learning alot of bad words the language is a little heavy in this one and I useually don't notice that. watch this don't bye Last updated Friday, January 19 2001.
