As I've stated before, the Inuyasha,/i> movies are purely designed for the fans. Without the constraints of having to follow Takahashi-sensei's manga story, writers can take much of the stuff that <i>Inuysha fans like and build stories that are in effect, fan-fiction on the big screen. The fourth movie continues this trend.

The story itself is pretty straight forward -- four daiyoukai are the enemy and must be defeated. This requires Inuyasha to use all of Tessaiga's powers (as they were known at the time of the movies release), which fans will enjoy. The flashback to Inuyasha and Kikyou's first visit to the island will please fans as Inuyasha uses his Sankon Tetsusou and Hijin Ketsusou attacks. Sesshoumaru's flashback is a similar tale with him using whip attack then and his sword Toukijin when he came back. However, he displayed some very impressive attacks that I don't remember seeing in the TV series nor in the manga, and I'm sure Sesshoumaru-fans rejoiced!

The writers make sure that all of Inuyasha's group has something to do and useful roles to play. Sesshoumaru's group isn't so lucky, but we did get to see Rin-chan and Jaken doing what they normally do. Where Aa and Un were, I've no clue. Kikyou had the weakest part to play, though there was an interesting twist with her.

The only thing some fans may complain about is the lack of any romance between Inuyasha and Kagome or Miroku and Sango. Both couples fight as teams which is about as good as it gets with the romance. The writers did through in a joke about the love-triange between Kikyou, Kagome, and Inuyasha though. There aren't many jokes as most of the time is spent on action, but the writers did make the story interesting enough though. Having the hanyou kids helped.

Bottom line: another pretty good Inuyasha movie that the fanbase will love. As the movie doesn't rely on previous knowledge of the characters/situations (though obviously it helps), newbies who love shounen action titles will enjoy this as well.
