Ace wo Nerae! (TV) Having watched the first eight episodes, I can only share that while this series does appear to be very dated (both in the story and style of animation), it does manage to spin an interesting sports-based story of the struggles of Oka - as she finds her confidence and ability to make a mark on her high school's tennis team. While I think that Prince of Tennis might tell a better tennis story , “Aim for the Ace” still spins a very charming and inspiring tale with a strong female lead character having to overcome a number of personal and petty (or vindictive) challenges. While I will not rate this a “buy”, I feel that I did not waste my time watching this very dated and (perhaps) simplistic sports anime series. Last updated Sunday, October 12 2008.
